Extrusion granulation is a relatively new dry granulation process for producing compound fertilizers. In the field of fertilizers, extrusion granulation was first used in the granulation of pharmaceuticals, that is, granular (1-4mm) pharmaceuticals required for blending fertilizers (BB fertilizers). In recent years, extrusion granulation for the production of compound fertilizers has developed rapidly in China.
There are two types of extrusion granulation: pair-roll and wheel-roll. 1. The granulation sequence of the double roller press is to compress the powdery materials into agglomerates first, and then pulverize them into granules. The equipment has large production capacity, high particle strength and low energy consumption. 2. The granulation of the wheel roller press is to make grooves directly on the surface of the roller to extrude the powdery material into particles at one time. Granular products produced by this equipment are of low strength and sometimes require the addition of a binder. It is suitable for granulation of organic fertilizers, compound fertilizers and other fertilizers.
